Local 21's Ironworkers erected the world's largest indoor desert at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo.  The Desert Dome stands 13 stories tall and has no support colums except for the outer wall.  This structure contains over 500,000 pounds of steel reinforcement.  The Desert Dome was opened in April of 2002.
